Short Description of the Grand Soleil 37
Built in 2008, ‘Grand Slam’ is the new Grand Soleil 37′ design built between 2004 and 2012 and not to be confused with the earlier version built between 1996 and 2004. ‘Grand Slam’ is a ‘Performance’ version with an upgraded rig and keel. The interior is fully fitted and quite luxurious. The forward cabin has a central double berth and two large hanging lockers. There are two guest cabins aft with full width double berths. A spacious saloon with a linear galley, full sized chart table and lots of seating around a large saloon table. The heads is aft of the galley.
‘Grand Slam’ has not had a hard life and this is reflected in the excellent condition of the yacht throughout.
She comes with a superb selection of North Sails, all in top condition and some virtually unused. A new Volvo engine was installed in 2018, she has also had an electric anchor winch installed.
Construction:
At Cantiere del Pardo, maximum priority is given to the question of safety and structural strength.
The galvanized steel grid, which is attached to the hull with a metal/acrylic chemical bond and further reinforced with a multiaxial cloth, provides stiffness and strength unheard of in laminated hull structures.
The one piece grid structure is designed to uniformly distribute keel, mast and chain plate loads.
This has the added advantage of lowering the C of G of the boat and also improving the stiffness of the hull thus providing the owner with superior sailing characteristics.

Owner’s Comments of the Grand Soleil 37
I bought her in 2008 to cruise and race in comfort. She was always going to be my last performance yacht and my criteria was high quality and comfort allied to great performance. ‘Grand Slam’ is beautifully constructed and really stiff, we have had lots of fun and some excellent results for an amateur crew, all starting to creak a bit! I have sailed her with a group of close friends in the UK and Mediterranean. She is my pride and joy and this is reflected in her condition.

This is the new GS37′, not to be confused with the earlier design built between 1996 and 2004.
Built in 2008, ‘Grand Slam’ is an absolute cracker in fabulous condition with lots of quality sails. A perfect yacht for fun with family and friends whether cruising, racing or sailing the ARC this winter.
You get what you pay for when you buy a yacht and the Grand Soleil 37′ is at the premium end of the market. Don’t delay if interested, boats like this are getting rarer and rarer.
